Lada Lysniak:

I'm so happy I'm here. Thank you for the introduction. Awesome. So so so happy to be here with the joyful journey goddess herself.

Anita Adams:

I love it. I think I'm gonna take that title joyful journey Goddess that works. I like it.

Lada Lysniak:

All ladies out there your goddess is whatever you do. You're all goddesses the joyful. JJ goddess like

Anita Adams:

JJ goddess. Ooh, that's good. Yeah, we do need to step into our godlessness, don't we?

Lada Lysniak:

Yes, yeah. 100% that's another whole show.

Anita Adams:

That is that is you know what? I might have to have you back. We'll have that conversation. Today we're talking about play. What I want to I wanted to start with is I did not realize that the unicorn outfit was something that you've been wearing Every day for the past two plus years, so can you tell us why and how that came to be a part of who you are and, and what you're bringing into the world?

Lada Lysniak:

Whoa, okay, so why am I wearing a unicorn in my head? And the one is right now it's a pretty big unicorn. Why do you say it's pretty much unicorn? And I've been actually wearing it for three years. I related it three years. My unicorn birthday is December 8. And why is it December 8? Okay, you want the story idea what the star Bring it on? Okay, it's kind of a long story. All right. So as you know, I am a podium triathlete, which means that every single time I do a triathlon, I got the first second or third in my age group, or an overall. And I was doing it probably for three of two or three years or a little bit more. And that's a lot of work. To really get that level, you need to really, honestly, workout two hours a day minimum, to really be at that level. So I said, You know what, it's like, I think it's 2019. And I said, You know what, I think I need a little bit of a break, I'm just going to take a break, I'm not going to do it as much. And so I decided I'm not going to train physically, but I will continue training mentally, because I think that has such a big, big, you know, a big influence on everything. And I have had a lifelong, I guess, quest to figure out how does one truly create reality? That's my big thing I want to how do you actually create reality. So what I was doing in my mind, I was physically not fit, I'm sorry, mentally working out, I was mentally swimming, I was mentally running, I was mentally biking, I was just, I kept on doing the same thing that he and I had a couple of demonstrations, even the mental thing, meaning that you visualize, you feel the feeling of whatever it is that you want, whatever it is, and then you just let it go. And you let it go. And I can tell you some other stories, but I'm going to keep going with my unicorn why I have this on my head. So I was not training. I was not physically training. And my boyfriend says hey, you know we had timeshares is an icon great timeshare in Key West, and you're not training. Let's do it in December 1 week of December. I said, Yeah, perfect. Let's do it. But I did not look online. What is happening that week, first week in December and Qs. Guess what's happening that first week and Qs? No idea. The Key West wrap. Oh, of course. Okay. It has to have to be there when I'm gonna be there. And I'm very competitive. Did you register? Wait, wait, there was no way that I was going to say that I'm not going to do it. I mean, I couldn't physically sit there while other people are doing it. And I'm sure it would have like, right it would want to run right by our place where we're staying. So no way. I said, Okay, you know what, I got a month I'm gonna physically train. I said, Okay, I'll do it. But I didn't I did like one run. I did one one swim just to make sure that the the wetsuit fits I did one bike didn't do a lot. Anyway, time came to go.

Anita Adams:

And in the meantime, are you still mentally training? Okay? Yes,

Lada Lysniak:

I'm still the mental training that that will just became a daily thing that I was just like on mentally going through all this and creating reality here and there, you know, kind of having little examples. So we get we're going on the plane I throw in, in my suitcase, I throw in the wetsuit. I'm like, I don't know whether I'm going to do it or not. I honestly didn't know. I didn't sign up. No, I did not not yet. And on the plane, I sit on a plane, the minute we sit and take off, I put on the eyemask and I spent the whole time literally thinking I'm at the triathlon, running like a gazelle. I'm swimming like a dolphin like a mermaid. Everything's going wonderful and easy, breezy, no problem. And I said, You know what? World University This honestly truly works. I'm going to be first overall. First overall, that's a big deal. It works fine, and I let it go. I'm getting goose pimples as I say right now actually.

Anita Adams:

I have been told recently Those are called Truth bumps. Not not. Right? Isn't there something magical about that? Those are truth bumps, you're experiencing loss. I

Lada Lysniak:

like that. I'm actually going to write that down.

Anita Adams:

I stole it from somebody else and I'm spreading the word those are truth bumps.

Lada Lysniak:

So okay, so we land as good we get the the rental car, and I let it go. That's the other thing. I did let it go. I said okay, fine. Do your thing universe. Rental Car. We're driving right by the venue where it is. So I figured let me just go in and just move the sign up. Now. The woman's like, oh, yeah, this is dark, right. She's like, if you don't sign up right now. You won't be in. I said, I don't care. You know, I didn't want to injure myself. We're gonna be there for a week. It's a vacation. I didn't know I went back to the actually went to the place got there we ate something. I did set up all my triathlon stuff because I don't know. And I tried to lay down I really wasn't trying really wasn't falling asleep and I was just I had all this anxiety I said, You know what? I got up and went to the bathroom, I put on my hands are cuffed right now I put all of my worries and whatever is gonna happen. I didn't care. I put it all in like a little in my hands. I throw it down the toilet, and I flushed it. And I actually felt better. I was like, that's interesting. I love that. Yeah, so it's like a physical

Anita Adams:

yeah, that's all part of the mental training isn't it? Like you're really incorporating that in all areas. Okay, carry on.

Lada Lysniak:

giving it away and you're flushing it down. Literally I went in the bed and I was like God I feel so much better I fell asleep no alarm 6am I woke up on the dot I woke up went to my computer I said if I'm in if I get in great if I'm not wasn't meant to be Ding ding ding you're in and grab the stuff off we go get to the place the same woman that was there when she said you're not going to get in said good morning. Here's your packet. So I went and I got we went to get dressed I put on my my wetsuit. And as I'm going to the place where we're going to swim I hear while I'm walking my boyfriend I hear this this very loud voice that said your secret weapon? Like what did you say? What was like I didn't say anything? I'm like you're a secret weapon. What I'm like I don't have anything what's my secret weapon? The only thing I had was this recording in my bag and for pictures or something I wasn't thinking anything of it I just was no because I'm just fun so I forgot to take a picture too. I put on my head I went to the place where we got to swim the guy the microphone guy you know the one who's doing the heat is making fun of me. Oh look at the unicorn you know he's gonna swim the he almost missed one of the heats my turn I gave my unicorn to my to my friend I have a waterproof on now but anyway I had to give this one away. The second the the millon Nana, whatever it is, the minute I put my hand into the into the you know, the gun went off my hand when the water I was swimming like a dolphin. Were using

Anita Adams:

visualizing that that you were the dolphin.

Lada Lysniak:

I don't think so. I just felt it. I saw that I was just It looks like you know what I'm saying? It was just like this is so easy because normally and it just it was perfect. I was in the perfect position. I was behind the perfect people. It was fantastic. You know and Ron was like again I was running like a gazelle and having fun. Normally I'm like looking at my watch oh my god what's areas? You know, looking at because what people have they have their there on the back of your cap. You didn't know this as a triathlete. You have your age group so you know you could see who's ahead of you you know the age I don't give a flying Kahoot I was just so great. Go unicorn go that's like yeah,

Anita Adams:

you had your unicorn hat back on when you were running?

Lada Lysniak:

Yes of course. Always um this is as much so I dance across the finish line couldn't care less what what I what place I got normally I would but you know I have all these new friends I went to EDA I figured okay, let me go see what place I got. So what you do is you get this little piece of paper that says you know all your the splits the time split third in my age group was good. Not bad. Okay for no training right no physical training. I'm still up there. I'm still on the podium. I think this is great. And then normally what they do is they will have the the ceremony right after at the at the venue itself but it's Keywest so it's part time Garth and they go off and do it at a bar. So we went back to the place I gotten full unicorn gear so that means I had my thing on my head I had the gloves I had though the tail I had the the leg warmers like well you know why not? Right oh wow. That looks at me. So going in the car and while pulling out and we get there's a big crowd around the restaurant and I hear I get out of the car and I hear my name like oh my god they started so I grabbed my Ukrainian flag because I am Ukrainian I always had my everyone knows me as the Ukrainian girl now they really know me as a Ukrainian girl and you know on the circuit on the triathlon circuit, and I'm running on the call and we run up and like Hurry hurry hurry get a good picture. So the the sea of people part I run up to the podium on the podium and oppose me getting my third place medal and I'm about to get off and the guy says Oh, hold on state don't don't go I said okay. First time in Key West triathlon history we have first overall Jana go

Lada Lysniak:

get it right. The magic it happened I let it go I didn't think no way in the world and I you know, how can I make him say that and it was just like, wow, wow, wow. Wow and that I where it says that time December 7, but that is not the eighth. I've been wearing it on my head. Because it is it reminds me, it reminds others. You are magical. whoever's listening to this, you are magical. We all magical. We all have that unicorn or whatever you want to say inside you. We are all magical. And I wear it but because I wear it, you know, magical things happen. Like even even right after that I was wearing it into a dive shop and this see that it's gonna die shop I walk in. I didn't even remember that I was wearing it. And the guy behind the counter. He's like, Oh, he says, Well, you know what, I'm actually a merman. I said, What? Some guy like he's one of the diver. Like white. Merman. He's like a male mermaid. I said, Oh, I said, really? He goes and you know what? He goes, I actually train mermaids. I said, What officially goes, Yes, you can officially get a PADI certified. You know, no diving. I'm a scuba diver. PADI certified mermaid. Okay, so let's do it. What do I do one certify me. He's like, You know what, I don't do classes just yet. I have it all set up. We have all that because he goes, I just got certified. I have all some of that some of the, I think there were no tails. But there was like somewhere where he's going to be displaying the tails and everything. And he said, Look, I'm leaving this end of this week, you need to do this. He goes, You know what? I'm going to create this. You know, I think this is a push, I'm gonna I'm going to hold on, give me your number. We'll figure it out. Just we'll figure it out. Because the tails were supposed to be in last week. They're gonna come in any any moment. I said, Okay, I gave him my number. And we got took his number, call them up. I think like a day or two later, I said, Hey, so what's going on? He goes, guess what the tails came in? He goes, Do you really want to do a class? I said, Yes, he goes, I'll call you back at the end of the day. Five minutes later, he calls me back. Meet me at this pool in Key West. I'll meet you there and you'll be my first mermaid that I certify. And I became officially John missing my official picture.

Anita Adams:

You're gonna have to send it to me

Lada Lysniak:

it's too far. I actually am in a pool. So for mermaid and then there's all these the ocean mirdif certified mermaid which I will become when next time I go to Key West. So and this just

Anita Adams:

Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I imagine walking around with a unicorn on your on your head. That it's eye catching, and people want to talk to you. It's almost like a conversation starter in a way, isn't it?

Lada Lysniak:

When they look at me strangely. Yes. I'm sure there's a lot of that. It's mostly it's interesting. It's mostly the older women that are like, I don't know, why would the kid like Mani Mani tomorrow? You know, it's a unicorn unicorns are like, Ah, it's very rare that I any I don't think anyone's ever said anything. That's not nice to me. Ever, ever.

Anita Adams:

I imagined I imagine you're you put a lot of smiles on people's faces. Exactly.

Lada Lysniak:

And you know what I do when they say something about my unicorn way? But do you say are we gonna do it right now? You say Scott it say something about my unicorn.

Anita Adams:

I love the unicorn.

Lada Lysniak:

Oh, you target a one minute unicorn dance party.

Unknown:

What does that look like? You we go

Lada Lysniak:

and I take my phone. I pull it someone says something to me. I say you target a one minute unicorn dance party wherever Costco Home Depot or wherever and I take out my phone I put it on and retains Well, right now right? Yes.

Unknown:

Are we dancing okay I do I hear it

Anita Adams:

Okay, for those who are tuning in and listening

Unknown:

do people get into it with you? Do they

Anita Adams:

run away because the cash oh that must be dropped I'm hot now that's the first for the show getting breaking out into dance.

Lada Lysniak:

Go Anywhere Home Depot, whatever, whatever. And people are like, What the hell? You know what the heck's going on? But then others are like, yeah, are they walking by? They will always, you know, give me a little. Yeah. And it's fun and it's putting you putting

Anita Adams:

smiles on people's faces and raising the vibe and raising the vibration. Why is that important? In your mind, why is that?

Lada Lysniak:

Important? The magical area of life right up here, everything down here, I spent so much of my life down here and now I've tried everything I can in my power to get myself up here. The unknown the magical the love, the unconditional love is all there the higher you are the you know, the better you feel, the better you are, the better. You shine. Yeah.

Anita Adams:

And the more that the more that comes to you. That's beautiful as well. I know that you know, you have a story that

Lada Lysniak:

that takes you you feel better to write the Bible.

Anita Adams:

Yeah, like I I love I love dancing and sometimes when I'm when I'm feeling low, I will literally just put on crank on some tunes and just go out on my deck and and just give her and my energy. It raises it significantly being that I'm feeling uncomfortable about or anxious about or something I'll I'll do the same thing. You know, I'll just put on some music and dance around and saying and, and just it changes everything in your body. And then I can go into those meetings feeling more competent as well. So yeah, I totally get that. I totally get that.

Lada Lysniak:

All right. We brought on guys. This is Dan Hardy broke the system.

Anita Adams:

I love it. We're too much. All right. We're just we got so much going on. I love it.

Lada Lysniak:

And you know, you're never too much.

Anita Adams:

No, I'm not. You're right. Funny, funny language. Hey, you know, like, gotta catch those little things that we say about ourselves never too much. I'm I'm just perfect the way I'm

Lada Lysniak:

right. We are enough. We're both enough. But we're never too much.

Anita Adams:

We're never too much love it. All right. Before we had some technical issues there, I was some asking you, if you could share with us your story on what brought you to become a play advocate, because you indicated that you were something quite different before that. So tell us a little bit about that. What happened and why you chose to make play a bigger part of

Lada Lysniak:

your life. So I think that we're all play advocates in the beginning. Obviously, we're all encouraged to play, play, play, play, and then you hit a certain age. It's like, oh, you can't play anymore. You need to be serious. And I remember this video, I was actually interesting. I was in the pool. And I was practicing a speech for Toastmasters, which is our public speaking group. And I remember distinctly I remembered a memory. As I was talking, I was like, Ah, did that really happen? And what the memory was was very, very clear. I so that happened like two, three years ago. I was in the car with my mom. And I had just graduated college. And my mom was it was a theatre actress. So she's always very dramatic. And she also Ukrainian so she had a little bit of an accent. So we're driving up the driveway, she turns off the key, the ignition. And my mom was you know, she was kind of mellow. She was she wasn't really that serious. But she had this very serious look on her face. And she said that idea. Now that you graduate college, what are you going to do the rest of your life? I was like Mom, I just one fun I want to play. Nah, sweetheart, you can't lay for the rest of your life. You need to be serious. Life is serious. And those who don't see it, I'm wagging my little serious finger at porn.

Unknown:

Right into the camera is serious. You need to be sad. Yes.

Lada Lysniak:

And I remember this so clearly. I remember going up to my room because you know your college you're trying to figure out what you're doing going up to my room and it's like I understood the assignment. You know, they say that I got the assignment. I need to be serious, of course. Yes. So I went and got my MFA my Master's in Fine Art that's pretty serious and photography and related media. It came an art and a documentary photographer again, all serious stuff. Eventually, as you heard, I became a photo journalist. And I started to actually, you know, again, serious, serious stuff photojournalist. And I was working also on my master's thesis. And I was actually sitting, I'm in my kitchen right now, in this kitchen, I was actually sitting in this kitchen and watching television, thinking about what am I going to do as my master's thesis, you know, I had to do some kind of big installation or something. And on TV was Boris Yeltsin, on the top of the tank, yelling, you know, whatever he was doing, it was the the coup in Moscow. And I was like, Oh, my God, I need to go to Ukraine. That's it. I'm Ukrainian. This is, you know, the day that Ukraine is free, oh, my God, it's gonna I have to be there. And I managed to get myself a, an assignment with a local Ukrainian paper, got my got myself over there, you know, wasn't that easy, but I did it myself. And I started working as a photo journalist, and also working as the same time on my, my master's thesis. And all went well, it's all good. And I started to videotape because I wanted my photographs to talk and it was all good. And I was I was, I was out also a fixer, which is like a producer, with all the news, people coming in, you kind of tell him what to do, where to how to go, you know, where, who to talk to that kind of thing. And I was going news news, that's what I'm going to do next, more seriousness. I'm gonna do it. And then I was like, yeah, they're like, You know what the best thing if you go back to the states and get a job, because I went to CNN and Moscow, other places, they're like, you know, go back if you really seriously want to do this. So I went back did my actually my master's thesis beautiful. It was a show called Old New Ukraine, which is actually very, very much pertinent to what's going on there. It was a multimedia thing with a net. And Ukraine is it was great, right down the street from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, because the Ukrainian Institute is there. And in any case, so I started getting into news, I did local news, and I ended up at ABC, and all good, but you know, I always wanted to be a host, that was my thing. And they be a host, you need, the only host that van was Oprah. And she'd went for news. So I figured, okay, I'll do the newscaster thing. But I was still at the same time doing my hosting thing, you know, both kind of burning candles up to ends, doing my couch show doing the street talking and doing all this stuff. And I remember very distinctly I was like, you know, I should leave ABC, I should leave, I should leave or go do my own thing. I remember running in Central Park, and running along and saying to myself, You know what, I really want to go but oh, God, you know, it's like the doctor thing. What is my mother gonna say at parties. Her daughter doesn't work at ABC anymore. So I remember saying to myself some kind of some kind of sick leave. I said to him, I remember this, like something I can something will force me to go. Yes. I created a fear disease. And I say I take both credit for it, I created breast cancer. perfect reason to go perfect reason to leave. I was told by the doctors, if I don't do it, by indeed that I did find it myself. I knew while I was ironically, while I was editing the couch show, which is kind of funny. I was sitting like in this kind of whatever. And I found it. Three things into my head. Number one, I knew it was cancer. And number two, I said the food caught up to me, which I'll explain to you in one moment. And then the third, I knew I wasn't going to die. I knew I was not going to die. Went to the doctors confirmed it. They said you have to do chemo radiation. But if you don't do chemo, if you don't do chemo, radiation and cut your breasts off, you will be dead in five years. That's your chemo, radiation and cut your breasts off, you will be dead in five years. Didn't do anything. They said. I did do a lumpectomy and the only reason I did a lumpectomy actually was because when they were looking for the body, the biopsy, the woman shot a metal in the needle she shot a metal like sometimes she shot something into my breast during the biopsy. And like what is that? She's like, Oh, that's a marker for surgery. I said what? marker for surgery? You didn't say anything about surgery, you think about cancer? So I said okay, you know one thing I will just get this thing out at least okay, but still no chemo, no radiation, none of that stuff. And I changed everything. I quit the good old glamorous television job finally, I it was a great job. But you know, time to go. Second thing was I quit the eating disorder. I had an eating disorder for about 30 plus years. And side effect of seriousness, I'm going to say, right, I really didn't want to be doing what I was doing. And then I began to play. The third thing was I began to play in in earnest, you know, always working, you know, trying to do this turn of that and I had time off and I said okay, I'm gonna start to play.

Anita Adams:

So that was a very conscious choice. You're like, this is what I need. I need play in my life.

Lada Lysniak:

My permission, which I didn't say in the beginning, I wish to say that the minute my mom said that to me, my permission to play switch was turned off which I did not say in the beginning. It was turned off And then I was turned off off off. And now finally I was like, You know what, it's time to go up and permission to play switch needs to go up to play. That's the hula hooping the dancing the fire hoop or dancing the drum circle dancing. One guy said to me and never forget this. I didn't see I've never seen him before that. And I didn't haven't seen him since he said, Wow, you he came up with like, I got to talk to you. You dance as if your life depended on it. I did. And then when you see me dancing, it's very intense. It's very, at the time, it was complete prayer. I mean, I was just total prayer. And it's still it's still it's a very, it's the way that I connect with the divine when I'm really a drum circle dancing is more special because it's dark. You know, you're really kind of in a it's very, what's the word? Tribal men, or you can really go. But my dancing, I danced when I dance, I dance in the Divine. And I could not care less who's watching me I want I do it as if you know is if no one's watching me. And it's this is really intense for me. And I know it is people have said that to me. Like, wow, you know, you're just it's just you're there and just watching you is like why is one woman to that? She said, Oh, she just You make my heart sing. She goes off your freedom you have right. Do not care is so contagious. Yeah. Because you forced me to stand up and just to start to move because I saw you moving. I needed to move.

Anita Adams:

Love that. I love that. And this whole, you know, permission to play and that that's part of your mission is this permission to play and turn that that place switch on?

Lada Lysniak:

Truth bomb, sorry, when you say

Anita Adams:

I love it. Truth bumps everywhere. That's awesome. I want to talk about that. That notion of permission to play and how you turned it off. And then you turned it back on. This is now my mother, my double your mother said something that caused you to turn it off. Right. So you you made the active choice to turn it right.

Unknown:

Correct. Right. So

Lada Lysniak:

hers was turned off by by she turned it off? You know, I'm sure I mean, everyone turns it off.

Anita Adams:

Yeah, yeah, they do. And I know I have to and I Yeah, you know, like, just a little side note. So it's all very much relevant. When ladder came to one of our Toastmaster meeting she came to play a phi the meeting. And she challenged us to come dressed up in costume. And I, I resisted that so much. Like I resisted it so much. And it just felt like work. And I was grumpy about having to do something that I didn't really want to do. Because I was I had so much stuff I needed to do. And I needed to put time and thought into putting on some kind of costume and and I was seriously grumpy about having to do this. It felt like a task. And then of course, I show up in this lame ass costume. Like it was so lame, because I put no

Unknown:

I think I just I

Anita Adams:

just found a black shirt from my husband, and then used then use like the bandit.

Unknown:

Zoom.

Anita Adams:

Like, oh my god, that's so lame. Anita, that's so lame. And I did I felt embarrassed that I didn't put more energy into it. And ultimately, the meeting was so much fun. I walked away from that meeting though questioning why I had so much resistance to wanting to play because I I think I'm generally a playful person. But maybe it's because I associate Toastmasters with something that's serious because I'm I'm on a mission to be a you know, world class public speaker. This is serious stuff. And the idea of playing somehow there was just a disconnect for me. And interestingly, I you know, I draw angel cards, and I love I love pulling angel cards. And right around that that time I was consistently pulling the card tells me to play and I'm like, Oh, for Pete's sakes. And so I started playing a little bit more and probably it's probably why one of the reasons why I wanted to have you on this show. I think I I need more play and I realize that there's a lot of us out there that have turned off the play switch and we need to explore how to turn it back on why He turned it off in the first place, like understanding, having the awareness around the why I think is, is really important. You you, you've got some awareness around why it happened for you. And I'm still searching Wi Fi turned off the turned off that place. But can I have I do turn it back on? I just it's it can I need to amplify it some more. But I'm hoping you can talk about this a little bit more about, you know, why do you think people struggle with this so much, and feel that they need to have permission to play?

Lada Lysniak:

Well, first of all, why were you so resistant? You said it, but that's really right, you're going to answer your own question. What Why were you so was it more work to, to what to have the

Anita Adams:

combination? It was a combination of things. One, it felt like I needed to put some effort into doing that. Another thing another thing?

Unknown:

Yeah. And then I'm wanting to

Anita Adams:

I think there was that maybe a bit of fear of not. I have fear around. I have fear around that I do. You know, as I speak it out loud right now. My I have a big fear about I want to be funny, and I don't think of myself as funny. And I felt like this this. This night, this Toastmasters night, I was going to have to be funny. And that caused anxiety for me.

Lada Lysniak:

You're you were very funny. Remember, I made you go find that we would play scavenger hunt. Yeah, you will find all these things. And then you said that you broke your wrist or something? Yeah, no,

Anita Adams:

I hadn't. I know I had to do a speech silently through, like charades sort of thing. Like I had to share a story through charades is what you got me to do. And when I did, yeah, that's what that was, was what mine was. And in a way that was easier for me because it's actually more talking that hat I find scary, which is interesting that I would host a podcast right? It's all part of it's all part of that journey. I suppose for me, you know, stepping out of my comfort zone and and doing things that stretch it stretch me, but I don't think of myself as particularly playful or particularly funny. And so that this this session or this class with you, not classes, meeting with you was going in I felt anxious about it. So

Lada Lysniak:

so that you wouldn't perform

Anita Adams:

that I wouldn't perform. And I think that's probably I am imagining it's probably something a lot of people feel that fear of looking foolish.

Lada Lysniak:

You know what, no, you don't ever look funny. You know, you're just You are funny. I mean, just the even the way you express yourself, you're funny you don't even realize it. We all I always say this We all poop we all pee. We all do all this stuff. There's nothing. I just had a question. Are you ever embarrassed about something in Toastmasters? It was a table topic question. I'm like, I'm not embarrassed of anything. Why? Why would I be embarrassed? If I made a mistake? Oh, well, oops, I'll do it again. You know, I don't know. And that might be now because I could say I was told that I'll be dead. You know, I'm saying that could be part of it that I just got this now this like, you know what, hey, I could have been dead and here I am. This is extra time. You know, I could have easily it could have taken me if I wanted to. But then again, I think that people decide when they want to go that's another whole thing as well. I think that you just I was not ready to go. I was not ready to go I had so much more I had to play with all you you're all my playmates now. That's how I see it that you're all my playmates right and resistance. Like even in Toastmasters, you know, it is a very serious thing. But Albert Einstein said play smartest man in the world play is the highest form of learning Yeah, that's when you look the smart again truth bumps. When you play you're learning you're in this this beautiful present moment where anything is possible. There is no embarrassment there is no performance there is no you are just like a little wide eyed kid what can we do what we can build something or we can do something you know and that's where the resistance I think is taught it's a taught resistance. You know, you're not supposed to Yeah, you're not supposed to have fun you're supposed to be Toastmasters is serious Didn't you know that you're kind of also get the ones that are like this is the most brilliant thing you know I'm very well known Louie. I'm very funny Arabia, very Saudi Arabia. I'm very popular think about that. That might be an oxymoron. Unicorn toasty play God is is very popular in Saudi Arabia. One of the more repressed places I guess you want to say right, and they love me and they love me and they like this one particular very high division director guy just he made me go to every single club in his division. That's a lot of clubs. That he you know, in certain exercises he loves The okay being embarrassed. Okay. The one exercise he loves is the facial variety exercise. And I asked people to put your face really close to the screen. Okay, go ahead put your face feel some of the cream. And now make a scary face. Ah you know be scared

Lada Lysniak:

be like sad that was really awful because that was just too much. I was just I couldn't handle that. No, no, no. But then you're like, Okay, wait a second be happy. Now you're not scared anymore and just be happy haven't been happy face right and now I'm in serious Toastmasters and yeah, that's

Unknown:

awesome. I can follow along that sort of stuff. But yeah,

Lada Lysniak:

okay, good. Now, do you feel Do you feel like self conscious? No, you can't. No. And again, I look I say oh, look at him and look at him. And they're all like laughing at each other. And then instantly that fear is lifted. Yeah. It's the damn fear. And you know, it's fear is the what's the stealer of what have dreams of everything. Right. All Yeah.

Anita Adams:

So it blocks you from from everything. Right. Right. Right. And it's all in front of you. And made

Lada Lysniak:

up. That's the thing we make. Yeah, I so this is my biggest thing. Now. You know, we create everything, we everything. And we create that fear. That is just, you know, I had a very, uh not a very nice situation with my with a in my own life right now with with a with someone in my life a renter renting my place. And you know, at first I was so serious and everything and

Unknown:

then I'm like, You know what?

Lada Lysniak:

This is a game. Let's see what she's gonna come up with next. And it just became so much lighter. For me. I was very upset about I was very anxiety. And I'm like, You know what? No one's dying. Nothing bad is happening. I'm not in a war in Ukraine. There aren't bombs over my head. It's not a big deal. It's just some money, you know, whatever. And I became light with it. And I'm like, You know what, wow. Oh, that feels so much better. I just game nothing's gonna happen. Nothing serious is gonna happen. It's not a big, big deal. You know? That's, that's but you see now that was we just threw off the fear. Just by making your face and funny faces. And you are funny. You're very funny. And yet you look back you look really funny and laugh at yourself. Look how beautiful you are right now. You guys don't see it. She threw her head back. And she was just like in like, just enjoy. JJ.

Anita Adams:

JJ God is love it. So it's interesting that we need to be reminded of that, I suppose more regularly. And you know, because why? Why do you think we stopped playing? Is it because we're told as we become adults that it's yeah, it's not it's not acceptable. Or they're in I'm curious in your your Toastmaster World Tour you said Saudi Arabia loved you the most so they really embrace that and you suspect that they need to they're more of a suppressed country. That's your your your they'd like me. I like your likeable a lotta are there without a unicorn on

Lada Lysniak:

my head? They have to like me. But that's why it's okay. They can accept me because you know what I'm saying? Because I have the unicorn. Oh, okay. It's not like, you know, you don't saying there's like a level of Oh, it's okay. She's it. That's Oh, and she's American. And that's the other thing. I'm a mess. Interesting. Yeah. Well, it's okay. And that's it. And the ones here. I'll tell you I get you know, some people are like, you know, the Toastmaster groups around here. They're like, Okay, thank you. I'll play a fight. And then whatever. American maybe be different if I was born again, as accepting me, you know, I'm saying because it's other and it's okay. That's interesting. Yeah. Maybe I'm not sure. But they Oh, that's still I'm known, you know, all over my district everywhere. Oh, yeah. The unicorn,

Anita Adams:

the unicorn. Yeah, I find it really fascinating. And just being conscious, more conscious about how to bring play into our lives. And I was hoping you could actually talk a little bit about that. You know, are there are there some things outside of you know, like Toastmasters. But just day to day? Yeah, but you get my question. I could tell you're chomping to answer this question. Okay. Go

Lada Lysniak:

okay. So very funny thing I actually we I do it now as an exercise and I I started as an exercise with a group that I it's a professional speaking group. And but I knew I realized that I do this all the time. Take something that's really boring in your life, and play a five somethings people live, and we could hold on. Okay, get up early in the morning, right when you get up in the morning, kind of like an office and all that instant, all of the problem Everything comes in, right? Because your eyes are open. You started, oh, my email. No, no that don't keep your eyes closed. Get out of bed and this is type of get out of bed, go to the bathroom, if you know where it is do what you can brush your teeth, whatever you like

Unknown:

eyes, close, your eyes closed.

Lada Lysniak:

And you're still in that creation mode. Okay? Oh, that's interesting. Think about it, you're still you haven't opened your eyes, you haven't seen your husband, you haven't seen the dog. You haven't seen the kids, you're still that Divine Self. You know, and you're still there. And you could do whatever it is. And then you know, create your own reality that day is going to create your day. You know how it's going to go in the shower, you're doing your thing, whatever walk out and then obviously, when you go down the stairs, maybe you should open your eyes. So take something that's boring, and like that, and but that's another even again, that's vibe. That's again, you're like going to be going up into a higher vibe. So the whole blindfold thing as well. For me. That was another poll.

Anita Adams:

Yeah, we do need I need to understand how you did the marathon blindfolded. How's that even possible?

Lada Lysniak:

Everything's possible. Oh, there she goes. Again. Got her head back. And she's laughing I love it. I love it. Yes, blindfold. Yes, you can in the word impossible. What is it?

Anita Adams:

I'm possible.

Lada Lysniak:

Anybody? Um, so we want to tell Okay, you want story of how I do. I

Anita Adams:

do want to know I'm derailing a little bit. I'm, I'm curious. I want to know this.

Lada Lysniak:

Take something that's boring. I don't know what let's figure it out right now. What's really boring for you? Unless I'm

Anita Adams:

doing doing my accounting.

Lada Lysniak:

Okay, paying bills? Yeah. Got a bill right here. Right. I was thinking, I gotta build right here. I say yes. 8999 for my internet. And I was thinking, okay, how can I play if I that I was actually thinking like, you know, what state of gratitude. I have, I can talk to a Nina in California. And that's kind of saying, Oh, my God, I'm sorry. In Canada, sorry. In Canada, I can talk to you. I can be with you. And all this. This is only little 90 bucks. Right? And the whole world is opened up to me. You know? How is

Anita Adams:

that playing? fIying it? Like it? You still have to pay this

Lada Lysniak:

bill? Yeah. You gotta pay the bill. Right? Yeah. For me, it's being grateful. I'm not not upset about it. No, I'm just like, Okay, fine. This is exactly this means I can play with other people. Right? Online. This, you know, not everything is I mean, play it by Yeah. But for me, this instance, I would say, okay, accounting, you know, for the accounting you when you say accounting what you mean, like balancing your checkbook?

Anita Adams:

Um, yeah, like, just yeah, like doing my looking at what my income and outgoing expenses are at the end of the month, you know, and just figuring that all out.

Lada Lysniak:

Again, you know, what, you, you realize that you've created it all. This is a whole big creation of you. And this is an extension of your creation. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.

Unknown:

So I kind of get that, that

Lada Lysniak:

connection, everything, but I raise the vibe,

Anita Adams:

right. And so and the gratitude piece is actually raising the vibe. So you know, so and that's something that I have actually started doing when I pay bills. If there's a place to make a note, I always put Thank you, you know, even when I'm paying, you know, my bill, I add a little thank you to it. And it does help. It does help a little bit for sure. So that's interesting.

Lada Lysniak:

Yeah, I put a little I put a little thing and I've done that I've actually done to people. I think it was on my taxes. On my tax day, yeah. Yeah. Thanks for you know, doing what you do. Yeah. Exactly. I have fine is one tool. But the other stuff is just I want to stay up here.

Anita Adams:

Right. All right. So dancing that's that's play find that so you're talking about what playing is is really raising your vibration and you can throw it in, in many different many different ways.

Lada Lysniak:

I last night, I was in my very, very cold pool. You guys do Celsius. So you know you do? Yeah, yeah. Celsius runs about 59. That's kind of cold. But it was for me. I was in there for an hour I swam a mile. That's raising my vibe. Raising my vibe because I'm realizing I can do anything. I can do anything. I could be in this cold pool. Who cares, right? I'm just having a good time. And I'm doing and most people like what No, I just getting in the cold water puts you in the present moment forces you to be here right now. And you know, and it was just a I get out of there and I'm high. I'm literally high when I got to the cold water because it's just you know, yeah. Anything the whole the whole thing? Yeah. Yeah. You I can't tell you how to play if I your life. But you know, I'm saying take something that you normally don't like to do maybe. And look at it in a different way. Right? Like, I don't know, let's see what what else can we use? What else do you That's boring? I don't let's figure out right now.

Unknown:

Um What else is boring cleaning the house?

Lada Lysniak:

Oh my god that's so much fun.

Unknown:

Okay, so I have you know, like Matthew

Lada Lysniak:

says Come on Okay, races

Anita Adams:

yeah like little competitions for yourself or whatever I know. The other day I went for a walk my usual walk and something I used to do with my kids when they were little, when we would walk along the beach, we would, we would walk on the on the logs and try not to touch the beach, see if we can get as far as we can without touching the sand and we would call the sand would be lava. And so I was on my own the other day. And I I did this I walked across the beach on the logs and was so much fun. It was it was so much fun. And then when I one point, I couldn't quite make the jump to the next log and, and I stepped in the sand and like

Lada Lysniak:

Oh right. And that's okay, you wait for your walk Exactly. To find my walk. Yeah. Once you have permission, I think you can find you personally. Anyone can find it do what you can play it find your own life. I mean, I can go here, I do this this day, but you figure out what really bugs you and then just switch it look at it in a different way. It's fun, you have the privilege of being alive. Yeah, let's do all of this, you know, you're being in a free country. People are in war now. You know, for me, I'm grateful about every darn thing. Because I'm alive. Because I'm not. I mean, we're so lucky here in this part of the world. You know, we really, really are. And I know a lot of people say that. But my parents were so grateful. My father and mother was so grateful. You know, they went through the war, they were war babies. And my father every single July 4 was so proud to be here. You know, I remember how patriotic they all wore when other people were not. And I'm just like, wow, you know, I never understood it. But, you know, just grateful to be here to be able to do what they wanted to do. That's a high in itself. Yeah. If you remember that, you know, we just get so bogged down and stuff. And

Anita Adams:

yeah, we do. So let me ask I'm curious about your process. Do you like every day start your day do you look at and ask yourself, How can I play a fight this part of my day today? How can I? Or is it like, how do I raise my vibration today? Or do you just automatically move into that higher vibration state?

Lada Lysniak:

At this point? Yeah. I watched my thoughts if my thoughts are crap. Yeah. No, that is not going to make you feel good. No, no, no, no, you know, it's a very, very, you need to be conscious of it. You need to be if you feel like crap, look what you're thinking. If

Anita Adams:

you feel like crap, look at what you what you're thinking. Okay. That's the first very tangible thing that you can do. Was that transition? So you live that space in that space all the time now? Of course, marches. Okay, got you got you. Right, right. Yeah, okay. Okay. Yeah. Was there at the very beginning? Was there was that really hard? Was it was there? Were there techniques that you use that would help you realize that you were not operating from a high vibrational frequency?

Lada Lysniak:

I'm trying to think about a use any kind of thing that I would just, you know, I remember in the beginning, it's very funny. I would watch. You remember Wayne Dyer? Yeah. Do you remember the the chat PVS the ugly sweater days? Oh, yeah. Remember the ugly sweater? Yeah, I literally, you know, I was trying to stop the eating disorder even even before the breast cancer, but that was just like the cutoff point. That's it. I remember watching him people, I went to OA, Overeaters Anonymous. And that's, they always say, you know, you're gonna sponsor someone that you want to be like, and I looked around the room and I'm like, I don't want to be like these people. Or anyone that I want to be like, I really just did not. And I also very interesting, I had this very well, I had a realization that they were coming there again and again and again with the same stories and I when I realized, Oh, my God, I gotta change my story. That was a very conscious thing. When I'm saying the same story. They're here for 234 years. And I just remember Oh, that was I looking in the mirror at myself was saying, that was the same story they've been saying for years. I gotta just change my story. Right. And then I started watching Wayne Dyer. And I said Wayne Dyer was in, in 12 Step. And I said, I'm going to have him as my sponsor. So I started watching, I would VCR, VCR days, I taped all of his stuff. And I would come home, I'm still binging I'm still binging watching him thinking, I'm gonna throw up. And I would put him on then I would go to sleep and I put him on I fall asleep to him. And I remember thinking his phrases were coming to my mind, you know, it's not the wake of the boat was not the wake of the boat. Oh, don't look at the week of the boat go forward, you know, the week is you don't need to think about what's going on the back, you need to go forward. And I just remember, I would brainwash myself. I basically brainwashed myself to be more positive. I'd watch my thoughts. I remember writing down I tried at some point to write down my thoughts. But that was really not enough. It's just testing yourself. It's just catching yourself.

Anita Adams:

Yeah. It's an awareness about what you're doing and just catching yourself and then making the adjustment. And this, the quicker you can make the adjustment, the better.

Lada Lysniak:

I think you'll one point I was trying, I was like, make make a thought, have you ever thought you did and then neutralize it? And then make it more positive? Because you can't be you know, sometimes you're so deep in the crap. You're just like, Oh, screw this. I don't want to be positive. Yeah. But at least you can make it a neutral thought you can be like, you know, at least I'm not. I don't know. I'm eating crap. But I'm not. I don't know. I'm just thinking, I'm eating really bad food. But so what at least I have something to eat. And then maybe change it into something more positive. So yeah, it

Anita Adams:

did the plague the play come as a result of you doing this internal work? Where were you needed to raise your vibration? You were seeing that you needed to change your thought patterns. So you leaned into play? Or was it the play that caused you to change your your thought patterns?

Lada Lysniak:

I think before that I was as I said before the breast cancer was even with the Wayne Dyer stuff, I was already reading a lot of spiritual stuff. So I think already I was starting. And then the play is just a tool, the tool, the tool, it's really it's just a tool, and I do other stuff. You know, again, like the dancing, all that other stuff is a major tool that everybody can use, right? Raise Your Vibration. Yeah,

Anita Adams:

thank you. Thank you for clarifying that. I think that's a really good way to look at it. And you even say it, it's in your your bio, this is part of your to your toolkit play is part of your toolkit. And that's a tool that we can develop in our lives. It can become like maybe right now, it's just a little screwdriver. But then, you know, as we develop, develop our play skills, maybe it becomes you know, an electric screwdriver or, you know, bigger a bigger tool that can do heavier lifting.

Lada Lysniak:

Hang out with your kid go find a little bit a little kid to hang out with. Be in play. That's complete permission right there. Yeah, it was a two year old. Yeah, absolutely. What they're saying do what they're doing hang out with. They have permission. They'll give you permission. You want the kids gonna get permission. Yeah. Play with me.

Anita Adams:

We just need to we just need to come to the place where we give ourselves permission to do this to play all the time.

Lada Lysniak:

Yeah. Why? Why be serious? The seriousness? Yeah, you know, anyone that's happy and serious? No, seriously. You know, anyone is happy and serious. Yeah. No, no, I think everybody wants to play. I don't care what anyone says. I think everyone wants to play. Everyone loves my unicorn. They'll never say it. But I think that, you know, I'm saying they'll never say that laugh with each other somewhere. But when they go home, they'll say, Wow, look how free lotto is. Oh, interesting. I think, you know, I'm saying they'll never because I believe that I believe everyone wants to play with me. Everybody wants to be free. And I know that. And that's why that's why I'm not embarrassed about it. Because I know that. Yeah, it's there. I know everyone wants to play who does not want to play and you see adults playing with kids. Right when you have your you see like the grandpa plays with a kid because it's okay. Yeah. Yeah. With each other with each other, you know, I mean, that's that's anyway, I am Yes. Yeah, more play in this world more. If you're not feeling well, same thing. I mean, you know, I played my way to health. And I say that I played my well to played my way to wellness. Yeah, because it was just everything was so caught up in my body. You know, all that stress on offense, and it was just like, Ah, okay, now I can move I can groove I can move move. I can do all this fun stuff. And it's an I can play with fire because I'm an adult.

Anita Adams:

Do you like You talk a lot about movement? Do you feel that play? Movement is an important part of PE play? Or can you?

Lada Lysniak:

Okay? Yes, of course. I mean, I'm not I mean, yeah, I would, I would say it's a it's a Yeah.

Anita Adams:

Is it required? Is that a requirement? Can you play without? Like, I guess I paint rocks and I consider that play as meditative. Yep.

Lada Lysniak:

Yeah, exactly. Yes. Yes. I

Anita Adams:

just answered my own question.

Lada Lysniak:

That's good. You don't need me.

Unknown:

I do I do need you. But yeah,

Lada Lysniak:

I mean, any any you know, anything can be play and everything can be played Think to yourself boring things. How can I play a fight? And then come and tell me

Anita Adams:

Okay, I think that's a really great direction to give anybody that's listening to this, as you know, ask yourself what, what is? What do you find boring? Or what's part of your daily routine that you don't particularly like? And then think about how can I play fie this how can I just put some fun into this and be curious about that?

Lada Lysniak:

You're in traffic, right? Become like a racecar driver. And you know, be the guy that's announcing and here I am. And I'm going through what I got another car. Well, here it goes, I gotta get through yellow car. Here we go. Okay, there's chairs. I drive around. By the way, this is a really fun thing. You're gonna love this. I drive around with. Someone gave me a really gigantic unicorn. So I drive around with a gigantic unicorn in my passenger seat. And everything, and I can't tell you again. It makes people smile. Good, I just see what I saw. And then she has a unicorn too. And then I'll like have art that I'll be like, you know, talking to the unicorn.

Anita Adams:

That's awesome. I love it.

Lada Lysniak:

Why not? You? If you're listening right now, people, I give you permission to play, go and play. Go do something fun. Do something you've never done before. Or something you used to do when you're a little kid. Think about it. What did you love when you were a little kid? What did you love when you're doing when you were a little kid?

Anita Adams:

I love climbing trees.

Lada Lysniak:

When was the last time you climbed a tree a couple of years ago? Time to climb another one? Yeah. That's your play right there. And, and I would love to hear what the experience was like, because I'm sure for you. That's a meditative whatever that's going back to that state of mind. Yeah, yeah, you guys out there who's listening. If you think about what you love to do with a child, as a child, I love to play with Barbie dolls. I actually have Barbie. Downstairs, and this other person got me a mermaid thing. I really don't play with him, but I just kind of have fun with them. If you love playing with dolls, yeah, go get some dolls, you know, work out your issues with other people with the two dogs that's kind of playing. Right?

Anita Adams:

I need to, you know, you know, I do these retreats here on Bowen Island, and I on the weekend retreat, the two day retreat. The second day, I take my guests to the other side of the island. And there's a sort of secret path that I know. And it takes us down this beautiful little path that's right on the edge of the ocean. And then there's this massive rope swing. And oh my gosh, the the people that I take, they're like, they just they love it. They're, you know, whooping and hollering and woo hooing. And there's just this joy and the sense of freedom that comes out of them. And it is so fun to witness as well. And the last time I did this, I was I realized that this is something that people want, they want to play. And I never really thought of it in the terms of the words you're using right now of giving permission, I gave permission for people to play. And that's such a that's such a gift I believe and you're doing the same you're you are giving permission for people to play so that they can go off and, and have more fun in life and then carry that forward and give others permission to play. So I love that I love that you're doing that and, and I just never really put it into those words myself with what I'm doing here. And that one little moment that I think is one of the highlights, actually for my guests

Lada Lysniak:

is contagious. When you see someone else having fun. You're like, oh, I want to do that. Oh my god. Yes. So please do more. Do more playful things. I don't know what else you could do but do more than the retreats. Whatever it is. Yeah, well

Anita Adams:

actually, there was one other thing that we've done a bunch of the end of this came from pulling the cards that I need to play more and I went bought some bubbles. And and I've noticed my guests really love blowing bubbles.

Lada Lysniak:

Offer and it's mostly goddesses, get some glitter, get them to put the They're on their faces oh nice I don't have glitter on today I should put glitter on that have some glitter on again make get some things they could put on their heads I don't know you want to be unicorns for the whole retreat they can be a unicorn for the whole retreat whatever it is or whatever character that they want to be or whatever like like like with the Toastmasters like I said you know come as the character you want to be have them show up as the person that they want to be on the retreat. That's right, whatever it is however they can embody

Anita Adams:

it's fun I might I might have to do that it's kind of a fun thing to play with.

Lada Lysniak:

Hmm very cool. Permission permission permission you're giving them permission to yeah yeah that that we need it

Anita Adams:

it is it is actually said that we that we need it that we've we've forgotten how to play and or society has made it seem inappropriate for adults to play. How can we change that? I guess just by embracing it being the Yeah, yeah.

Lada Lysniak:

That's what I think I do.

Anita Adams:

I think I think so to your Yeah, you're shining the light and and making people feel that they can they can shine that way.

Lada Lysniak:

So many people tell me that my god lotta you know, thank you for being you. They love my Facebook posts. They say thank you for that. One guy that I play for. I actually remember this. I play fight and hit the meeting. He went off and play fight his life because I kept out in the end of my Toastmaster means I said go off. Go be an ambassador for play. Say please, everybody be an ambassador for play. I make them put their hands up. And they promise they say I promise I pledge whatever toast got or toast Goddess. I pledged to clarify every Toastmaster meeting, I promise to add fun and glitter to my life. And wherever I can. I will play a phi and they all go. They go up. One guy did it. He said he played. He played five other meetings he played by his own life. And then he writes me a little text and he says Lila thank you for helping me get a promotion. I said what? He goes, Yeah, he goes, I got a promotion. I play a find my work. I got a promotion and a raise because the guy was like I was people started having fun. And he's like, Oh, whatever you're doing, just keep on doing it. So it works. Yeah, no, I put it out there. And they did it. And they and I other when other people play if I'm meetings for me, that's again, that's the ripple. Yeah.

Anita Adams:

The ripples. Just talk about quickly about those ripples. What are some benefits of clarifying your life that you've seen? She's pointing to your big smile. She's a happy woman.

Lada Lysniak:

Smile when you're happy? Your hormones, right? What is it? Yeah, yeah. Oh, man. You can heal yourself with with laughter There's laughter therapy, right? Yeah. Yeah, it's play therapy. I think you can change your whole life like I did. I mean, I'm the shining example. Yeah, he'll play was such a big one of my therapies that really basically saved my life. I would say it saved I do say that often, like saved my life because I it makes you feel better. It makes you feel more excited about everything. It opens up possibilities. I know it changes chemical, you know the chemical when you're when you're smiling. It's when you're laughing even more so. So I don't think there's any negative side effects to play.

Unknown:

Yeah, no, I don't know.

Lada Lysniak:

The, the the playground.

Anita Adams:

So well. You're one of my my big vision, you know, like a world world goals that I have is to the work I do is to harmonize humanity and bring bring people together to heart to create harmony within, within humankind. And there's so there's so there's so much not that happening in the world. And I'm just thinking as we're having this conversation, how play can have play a big role in harmonizing humanity.

Lada Lysniak:

You can play with anyone you have. There's no color, there's no creed or gender. You're just coming together to play. And even more so on the people that you don't think should be playing together. Should be playing together. Yeah. Because then you realize it's unifying. It's a unifying, we all play. We all want to be happy. We all Yeah. You know when you said I thought you said heart timoni. No,

Unknown:

he's like, what is that? Well, I

Lada Lysniak:

loved it. Think about it. That's what it is. It's really art. It's harmonizing heart heart and most harmonized part of modernizing harmonizing. But yeah, I'm with you, girl. You know if I can help you in any way I will help you harm harmonize, harmonize? I think it plays a very, it's such a huge everyone plays. Everyone plays no matter what age

Anita Adams:

everybody can play. I don't think everybody does play. And I think that's the point of why I wanted to do this this show, because I want to inspire people to play more. Because I see how it's impacting your life and that the impact, you're having the ripples that you're making in the world, and people want to have more joy. You know, like, a lot of my clients, they come to me because they want more joy in their life. Just like, play.

Lada Lysniak:

Like go on a swim. If you haven't done it swinging, go find yourself a swing, that's it, you should assign them. Today, your assignment is go find a swing and go swing in it for five minutes. Yeah. And then tell me that you're not happy? Yeah. You know, and it's like, it's so it's not difficult. It's not difficult, and it's not. You have no choice but to smile, I write really hard to be upset on a on a swing, if you want to. But it would be an effort. I think, if anything, it's naturally, it's we're all we all were play advocates, you know, like in the room. We're all in the beginning, we're supposed to play. And maybe some people didn't even play as children, which is why they have issues maybe now that they're not playing. I love you know, I love especially the guys that I think that like even dancing, the ones that I they know I'm not they don't really want to dance with me. And I will go and say Come on dance with me. And then when they dance with it, it's such a, they just transform, you know, they just transform. It's just like, wow, or whatever I did whatever it is. I've seen that again and again and again in in Toastmaster meetings non Toastmaster meeting people you don't think they just start to shine? Come right there light. You know, you see their light and and it's just like, wow. And then it's really interesting because all the meatsuit as they say, it doesn't matter what color they are or whatever. You just see their light, you feel their light. And that's the beauty when you know, like I'm dancing with whatever. I'm dancing with that person's light. I'm not really dancing with what they are. And every whatever it is that they look like, I'm just it's fun. You know, I'm roller skating now. And then that's another whole fun thing that I'm Lord. Yeah. I'm trying. I want to I want to roller skate and hoop at the same time. So

Anita Adams:

Oh, wow, that sounds like a disaster waiting.

Unknown:

No, I could you could I imagine you could,

Lada Lysniak:

like, you know what, like, I started doing I say to myself, I'm going to do something new, at least once a month.

Anita Adams:

I would love that. That's a way that's a beautiful way to play for your life. It's just to think of what is something new that I can try to do? Yeah,

Lada Lysniak:

and I picked a roller skating. Okay, now, so I know. Okay, go ahead. And Anita, what are you gonna do one thing?

Anita Adams:

Well, well, it's not new, but it's something I'm going

Anita Adams:

to climb a tree to come back to something I haven't done in a long time.

Anita Adams:

Oh, gosh. What? What? What can I do? That's new. I don't know. I have to think about that. It just nothing's popping into my mind. Yeah, I used to who I used to love hula hooping. I was like the hula hoop queen. A hula hoop.

Lada Lysniak:

You have to climb the tree and hold at the same time.

Unknown:

No, no, no, no. That's a bad idea. The top

Unknown:

oh my gosh, no, that

Lada Lysniak:

just because something new or something you knew you could do with your husband that you've never done before? Yeah, bring someone else into it or ask hopscotch. When was the last time you did hopscotch?

Unknown:

Oh, that's so funny. You

Anita Adams:

mentioned that. I was just talking to my daughter last weekend saying that I wanted to get some some chalk to to do some hopscotch.

Lada Lysniak:

Part of the retreat. Yeah, yeah. If you can't if you find somewhere that you could do the little the drawing. Yeah. Yeah. Drawing on the sidewalk. I was one of our the little kids were doing it. We were Is this okay? This is me. Here at Easter. Oh, God, we were at an Easter Easter service and it was all outside because it was COVID and Oh, I'm gonna keep got this Easter basket with chalk in it dirt and then drawn during the service. So I got up and drying during the service. The looks I got left, right. It was what are you doing housing. I want to play to why can they're drawing why can I draw? What am I gonna do something? I'm

Unknown:

serious. Yeah.

Anita Adams:

I mean, that's that's exactly why we were almost shamed into behaving a certain way. Right. So that's, again, that's a society that's beating play out of us and you get that happens, you know, over a number of years and you feel like you're you're wrong. You're saying and how wrong by by playing unless you like you said unless you're playing with your children then you're then it's acceptable

Lada Lysniak:

but yeah I mean I don't they don't do it on purpose that's just like that's the way it is and maybe it's time for people to say it's not that's not the way it is you know it's not you can get down on your knees during a during Easter service and draw an egg draw Jesus draw whatever you want to draw you know? Yeah, yeah. So far I think we should have put my chalk at every outdoor shirt service for every one to draw think about it you you're talking about God and you want you know and there's so many painters out there you're you paint right you a little bit you paint a

Anita Adams:

little bit my daughter, I paint rocks, not very well. But

Lada Lysniak:

think about if you're at a service instead of sitting straight and listening to you get down and you just start to draw a little bit yeah,

Anita Adams:

you probably take in more of the service by having that physical activity as opposed to being forced to sit on a hard pew listening to somebody go on and on.

Lada Lysniak:

This was an outside service it was COVID so it's not normal outside and by the on the they have Yeah, yeah. So what places to draw but yes, simply things like that. I mean, why not? Yeah, yeah, I there's nothing

Anita Adams:

Yeah, that's that's awesome. Okay, you've given us a lot of things to think about and I'm challenging the joyful journey or is this thing to find ways to play a phi your life and and I would love to hear hear back from you and how you're how you are playing fIying what you're doing to increase the play and that the high vibrational frequency be at dance or, or whatever. So very cool. Lotta if anybody wanted to connect with you directly, what's the best way for them to do that?

Lada Lysniak:

They could go on my Facebook page. Okay, a lot of lives. Yeah, they can also go on my Instagram, which is Lada not a goddess 14. One. And that's it for now.

Anita Adams:

You can put I will put it in the show notes ways for people to connect with you. And it's an I encourage you to follow ladder on Instagram or Facebook. She posts some really awesome fun content videos of her dancing in your unicorn outfit on the beach and beautiful imagery and just just really going and having fun, which is so important.

Lada Lysniak:

You know what I thought of something kind of interesting. I think I might do it. I thought that you know, my posts get a lot of attention. People love them. Like recently as a party. They're like, Oh, we love your posts there give us so much energy and excitement. And I said to myself, I'm going to do the post podcast. So I will take a post that I did. Yeah, then I'll give like the backstory and I'll give like I'll explain, you know where this came from how it happened, whatever it is. So you have the posts, and then you have a podcast and maybe not a podcast. Maybe I'll make it alive. Right, right, fine. You know where that came from and how that how that happened. Fun. I love it.
